US, August 11, 2009 - Zut alors! French site www.starwars-universe.com is reporting a source in contact with LucasArts has revealed BioWare's MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, is currently scheduled for release in October 2010. Well, actually what they said was Octobre 2010, but we broke that code pretty quickly. This date is in agreement with claims that EA made last year that it was funding an MMO in Austin that was due to be released in fiscal year 2010.

According to Google, The poster further goes on to say, "I know what it is like to be in the position of the player and say 'but that this spring in the bite-me-the-node?' And that, of course, we cannot tell you for fear of the grill."

Our own LucasArts sourcwa "dispute that a reliable LucasArts source said any such thing" and reminded us that they have not publicly revealed a release date for the game

yep - a very big sigh, still some time to go lol

But i was expecting around that time and might even be brought forward as the game looks at a very advanced stage, but it should land pretty polished unlike most release's now a days that are un-finished, may be EA learnt a lesson with WaR?

I got a sneaky feeling that we will be seeing ToR beta testing in a few weeks and game release of May.Why do i think this because a release in may gives them 5 or 6 months before the new wow expansion and the hype level of the game is at bursting point leaving it too long will make the non starwars fanatics lose intrest.Also going by previous bioware releases like NwN2 and Dragon Age for example they hyped the games up to the same sort of level ToR is atm fingers crossed;)

Interesting bud, i have been thinking the same about cataclysm, it would be a disaster to launch around the same time as 1000lb gorilla, but also they could delay a month or so till after, playing wow one thing i notice after a new expansion is its crazy for the first month then starts getting back to normal after everyone has returned to try it out and then realise its the same old shit.

I would expect a beta around spring to be honest, i say this because the holonet is not finished (click here (http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet)) a few question marks left which means plenty of more news, but i hope im wrong and you are right ;)
